Set Yourself Up for a Joyful Day With These Tips

There’s nothing more satisfying than having a great day. You wake up, full of energy and ready to take on whatever comes your way. Sometimes, it can be a challenge to get there. But if you follow these simple tips, you too can have a joyful day every day.

Get a good sleep

If you have a lousy sleep, it’s going to be difficult to find joy in the next day. Set yourself up for great sleep by limiting screen time before bed, putting a lavender┬ásachet in your pillow or diffusing some essential oils, writing in your gratitude journal or having some quiet snuggles with your pet. The best way to a good night’s sleep is to have that time to wind down before bed. When you wake up in the morning you’ll feel refreshed and ready to have a joyful day!

Be thankful

We’ve talked about gratitude before on this blog but it bears repeating…if you can find things to be grateful for (and we all have them) then you’ll immediately feel more joy. So when you wake up in the morning, lie in bed for a bit longer than usual and think of 3 things that you’re grateful for. Setting up the day with gratitude guarantees you’ll hop out of bed with a great attitude!

Get organized

Nothing starts the day off on the wrong foot like chaos. Spending some time the night before to get organized helps to ensure a peaceful start to the day. Get the kids’ lunches packed and figure out what you’re making for breakfast the night before. Set out the clothes you’re going to wear tomorrow. Set the coffee pot up on a timer. Set your alarm a bit earlier and don’t hit the snooze button 10 times so you get out of bed in time to meet the day. If you’re not in a rush, you have more time to savour the morning and have a joyous day.

Be positive

Not a morning person? That’s no excuse! Even if mornings aren’t your thing, you can still find a way to ease into the day with a positive attitude. Take some deep breaths when you wake up to get the oxygen flowing. Maybe do some gentle stretches. This wakes your body up and might help you feel less sluggish. Find some ways to be grateful and move forward into your day on a positive note.
